What happens after the call?
After an initial call, we will decide together if it’s a good idea to provide you with a trial interview and text for your book. I always start with a trial, which is a low-cost, low-time investment because it enables authors to experience the feel of the writing process and decide whether they are comfortable moving forward. You do not need to be ready to jump into a full book process after this call, but during our call, please try to be ready to make a decision about moving forward with a trial.

In the era of AI, you may also want to question a writer about how and whether they integrate AI tools into their work process. Using AI can improve a book, or it can render it generic and low-quality. Think about how you feel about your ideas being filtered through AI tools, and be ready to discuss this with the writers you meet if it is important to you.
To have a successful ghostwriting experience, reach out to different channels and speak with several writers to find out what their processes and backgrounds are. Pay attention to how well you feel they understand you, and what they are promising to do for you.
Though there are many talented writers out there, I do not recommend working with a writer who is a non-native English speaker for a book written in English. You are almost guaranteed to get a poor result this way.
If you work in a highly specialized field, working with a writer who has some knowledge of your field will be a benefit. If you can find someone who is a good writer and has the experience you’re looking for — great! If not, make sure the writer you do choose to work with is prepared to tackle the learning curve of understanding your industry deeply, so he or she can write about it with authority.
